MANAGER INFRASTRUCTURE DELIVERY

Council are seeking a Manager Infrastructure Delivery, to lead the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of infrastructure projects from concept through to completion with Council. The focus is on ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

About Us

Based in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, Upper Lachlan Shire Council is renowned for its agricultural history and picturesque countryside. We are located just one hour from Canberra and are enthusiastic about the community we serve.

The Role

Reporting to the Director Infrastructure, you will focus on coordinating works programs, resources, implementation of budgets, coordination of contractors and operational teams to deliver the actions of Council's Operational Plan and Delivery Program and agreed services and functions, and to contribute to the effective delivery of Council's infrastructure priorities.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong leadership and the ability to effectively lead an infrastructure team through change in a regional local government environment. They will bring an innovative, practical and consultative approach to managing infrastructure services, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture while responding flexibly to changing community needs, operational priorities.

Drawing upon your experience in continuous improvement, and your tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent you will manage infrastructure construction, rehabilitation and maintenance programs within approved scope, budget, timeframe and quality requirements. Alongside this you will Coordinate Council workforce, plant, materials and contractors to support efficient and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure works.

The Person

The role requires someone with the following qualifications and experience;

  • A Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline with demonstrated contemporary experience relevant to the position; or substantial contemporary experience in a similar role supported by appropriate ongoing professional development.
  • You have demonstrated management level knowledge and experience in the planning, programming and delivery of civil infrastructure construction and maintenance, including roads, bridges, stormwater/drainage and road corridor infrastructure.
  • You have demonstrated experience in project and contract management, procurement, contractor management, budget development and management, works programming, cost estimating, scheduling and resource planning for civil infrastructure works.
  • You have demonstrated experience leading, developing and managing operational employees and teams to achieve agreed work programs, service levels and organisational objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and manage operational, project, WHS and service-delivery risks.
