Casual Mechanic (Crookwell)
Are you a qualified automotive mechanic, with contemporary experience servicing, repairing and maintaining large plant and light vehicles available for immediate start.
About the role
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor you will be assist in providing quality servicing, repairs and maintenance to Council's heavy and light plant in a safe and efficient manner to prevent down time of plant and equipment.
Your expertise will be crucial in meeting legislative and procedural obligations/requirements while working collaboratively with our dedicated team, guiding them to ensure work is efficiently and safely delivered in accordance with Council's works program.

- Casual Hourly rate starts at $34.18 (gross) + superannuation (Grade 9 in accordance with Council's Salary System and the Local Government State Award)

Responsibilities include but not limited to;
- Undertaking servicing, maintenance and repairs of Council's plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
- Undertaking registration inspections on Council's heavy and light vehicle fleet and plant.
- Input Data, complete digital job cards and assist in the management of Council's fleet management software.
- Preparing estimates and obtain quotations as required.
- Undertaking light steel fabrication and repairs.
- Assisting the team including apprentices in the workshop
- Maintaining and cleaning workshop equipment
- Ensuring safe work practices are undertaken, and consistent delivery of the highest level of customer service.
- Inputting of data, complete digital job cards and assist in the management of Council's fleet management software.
Essential Criteria
- You obtain an Automotive Trade Certificate (Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic) or a related discipline with demonstrated contemporary experience in a similar role; or substantial contemporary experience in a similar role, coupled with ongoing professional development to support contemporary knowledge.
- You have contemporary knowledge and demonstrated experience in servicing, repairing and maintaining plant, equipment and heavy vehicles.
- You have demonstrated knowledge and experience in electronic fuel injection and electronic diagnosis of engines.
- You have a proven ability to work productively as a member of a team and contribute to team goals.
- You obtain a current WHS General Construction Induction (White) card.
