Upper Lachlan Shire Council has an opportunity for you to join our dynamic team as our newest Tourism and Economic Development Coordinator

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Tourism and Economic Development Coordinator plays a vital role in leading and coordinating the Council's Economic Development plans as well as the operation of the Tourism function for the Shire.

The Role

As the Tourism and Economic Development Coordinator

  • Offers a challenging and rewarding career in local government;
  • Is a business-critical position that allows you to facilitate tourism development opportunities and promote Upper Lachlan as a desirable destination
  • You will coordinate, facilitate and support community and tourism events and activities which will showcase the Upper Lachlan, whilst enhancing communication and engagement between Council and the community and or drive visitation.

About you

  • You are a motivated individual with a can-do attitude;
  • You can demonstrate contemporary experience in a similar role; coupled with ongoing professional development to support contemporary knowledge.
  • Ideally you have experience in tourism industry, event management, retail operations, social media and promotional marketing.
  • Experience in customer service, public relations, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite as well as website content management and social media platforms.
  • Current Class C Driver's License and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
  • A collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Your exceptional interpersonal skills enable you to negotiate win-win outcomes.

This position is Grade 14 in accordance with Council's Salary System and the Local Government (State) Award 2023. Council offers an attractive package for this role, salary range is dependent upon skills and experience of the applicant between $1,707.18- $1,931.00 per week plus superannuation.
